In May, 17-18, 2011 in Innovation and Exhibition Complex of Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas was held a Student Debate Tournament "Business and Energy Saving" under the "Saving energy – saving future" project.

The tournament has become an event that attracted attention not only of students, but also scientists, local authorities and the public. The rector of Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, Professor Yevstakhy Kryzhanivsky and Deputy Chairman of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration Ruslan Husak has welcomed tournament participants and guests. The tournament guests were representatives of relevant departments and divisions of State Administration and City Executive Committee, teachers, students, and school children (about 90 participants and guests of the event).


Topics of tournament related to energy saving innovation in business have interested the representatives of industry and small entrepreneurs.

Authors of the best essays regarding to the practical using of energy saving technologies in the Ukrainian were awarded by memorable certificates. Eleven of the best tournament speakers received incentive prizes - monthly season tickets to the movie-theater "Lumiere". There was held four rounds of training and one semi-final, which brought together the best debate speakers. In each training round was discussed another resolution related to the overall theme of the tournament and the project. The theme "Should Europe Europe must increasingly rely on nuclear power was selected for the semi-final round. This topic is particularly relevant in the context of the notorious events at nuclear power stations as Fokusima in Japan and Chernobyl in Ukraine.



The best speakers in the debate after the semifinal round were: Ivasyshyn Uliana and Sergiy Roziskulov (IFNTUOG), Mykhailo Tkach (Precarpathian University named after Vasyl Stefanyk), Zborovskyy Mykhailo (Kyiv National University named after Taras Shevchenko). In September 2011 they will visit the Romania's Maramures county, where familiar with examples of effective use of energy saving technologies in manufacturing, utilities and construction sector
