Project “Saving energy – saving future” has been started

In December 9, 2010 at the City Hall (4a, Galytska str., Ivano-Frankivsk) was held  ceremonial signing of the grant agreements and ENPI CBC Programme Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine 2007-2013 projects presentations. During the event has been announced activities under CBC Programme EU, presented six technical assistance projects be followed in Ivano-Frankivsk organizations and government bodies in partnership with Hungarian, Romanian and Slovak state and private structures.

 

It was presented the following projects: "Ensuring the quality of social-oriented education, research and development" (grantees Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas), "Harmonisation of tourism development in rural areas of Carpathian region" (grantees NGO "Association for Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk"), "Improving the environment in Ivano-Frankivsk and surrounding areas through the use of environmentally safe technologies for solid waste management using the experience of Baia Mare, Maramures (Romania)" (recipient of the grant the Executive Committee of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council), "Saving energy – saving  future" ( grantees NGO Agency for private initiative development"), "Increasing business potential of the border region through the creation of business support institutions" (grantees Regional Fund Supports Entrepreneurship in Ivano-Frankivsk oblatsi), "European School" (Ivano-Frankivsk secondary school № 5).

Below is information about the project "Saving energy - saving future", which is will be implemented by the Agency for Private Initiative Development in partnership with the Association EkoLodzhik (Maramures county, Romania).

The action is the reply to the challenges that rise in the EU and neighbor counties.  The most urgent of these challenges are preservation of nature resources and transition to the renewable energy sources.

Ivano-Frankivsk region, Ukraine and Maramures County, Romania have both suffered from the socialist approach in the sphere of the energy and nature resources now demand real steps in support citizens to energy and nature resources savings as well as implementation of innovative technologies in this field.  It is vital to involve the creative potential of the students – the future specialists in economy, ecology and industrial development – for the efficient use on the project territories. It is anticipated that small and medium business of the transborder regions will became the target group of the project that will show interest to resources savings and energy effective use. The representatives of SME sector do not possess substantial financial resources and that is why are interested in the implementation of the energy saving technologies.  SME sector form the main segment of economy both in Ivano-Frankivsk region and Maramures County.

The overall objective of the action is to support the development and implementation of energy effective technologies and cross-border cooperation in this sphere among youth and businesses and build strong partnerships for future cooperation between Ivano-Frankivsk region and Maramures county.

The Action aims to achieve the following specific objectives:

1. To establish dialog and cooperation between the representatives of business sector, local authorities and student youth of Ivano-Frankivsk and Maramures regions regarding the renewable energy and resource saving issues by studying the best practice of bordering area of Romania on the ways of energy saving and processing in economy system and by establishing cooperation in this sphere.

2. To provide youth with the possibility to express creative and alternative ideas on doing business applying the principles of sustainable development of the bordering regions of Ukraine and Romania by means of debates arrangement between the students on the subjects of effective use of resources and energy for stable development of the Carpathian Euro region.

3. To disseminate the knowledge on energy saving and effective use of resources by means of materials publishing and providing Internet access to the  informational and analytical materials for the use of Ukrainian, Romanian and other EU countries’ students.

4. To set the tradition of regular interregional discussions by establishment of International Student Debate Club on the basis of Ukrainian -Romanian Resource Centre.
